Hello i'm new to this forum, I'm working on Radio king bass drum from the early 50's--it has internal mufflers for front and back heads--mounted in the inside of Bd Drum-and 2 Bd T-rod Stylehandles for adjusting the mufflers they are mounted on the top of bass Drum-I have never seen this on a bass drum- and putting them back together--has been the issue--anybody worked on these?? thanks rrdrums-- I will post a pic soon--
50's Slingerland Radioking internal bass drum Mufflers
Sounds like the Ray Mckinley No.933 internal bass drum muffler used from 1940 through 1978.. citing Rob Cook, The Slingerland Book, page 168.
The small picture in the book makes it look like a pretty simple lever and fulcrum type mechanism.. what's buggered up on it??
I can't wait to see a picture of a real one.

Hey jim thanks for your interest!! I will try to get the pic up--just need help putting it back on right--Rickie
here is the pics of Bass
Dang... those are soooo COOL! Man I would love to build a drum kit around that drum.
It doesn't seem like much could go wrong (if you have all the right parts).
So what's going funky on them??

I have one of those brand new. What's the issue with yours?
No issues-just tryin to put it back together right--I found a stock pic in the slingerland catalog--I'm just not doing something right--the nut keeps falling of --just need the order of the pieces how they go back on!! thanks you guys for all your Help!! RRdrums
Don't know much on this one but, if it will fit, maybe that outer nut should be doubled.
Or.. stick a Nylock on there.

Hey Jim gonna try the double nut thang--I'll let ya know--thanks for that catalog no. I've got the pic--Likin this forum--thanks
I got 'em. One original, one NOS. I think the answer you're looking for is that l-shaped piece hangs between those two nuts. Not tight thought. Those nuts let it slide a little when you're raising or lowering the thing.
