Is someone here selling this stuff?

I looked into the seller - three prominent drummers/collectors and a well-known drum shop warned me to stay away. They wouldn't touch anything from this guy. Word of warning. Always good to get references if not there in person...

Ahhh, if that's the case, then I probably DO know who this is. And yes - don't go anywhere near this.

From the tone of these warnings, is it safe to say that one would need oven mitts to touch this guy's drums?

If this is the same guy I'm thinking of...

Not sure if anything he may have is stolen, but he does have a reputation for dishonesty and scamming. He used to come in to the music store where I worked and was always working some angle, trying to wheel and deal, get something for nothing, etc. He's been doing stuff like this for years, and not just with music gear - concert tickets, band memorabilia, cars, etc. He even tried to pull one over on Charlie Donnelly. I got a Leedy snare from Charlie back in the early 90s and he wanted to make sure I wasn't this guy before he'd sell me anything!

I'm not making excuses for him and certainly don't want to speak ill of anyone, but I'm pretty sure he had a rough background and was raised wrong. Regardless, the warnings are warranted, so I'd recommend moving on quickly and expeditiously - cheers all.
