It's a lemon ;)
Great sounding drums & same great shells as the high end Ludwigs.
Highly recomended.
This one is from early 68. 20/12/14/14
Very cool, Lemon Strata is my favorite. My set (the one in the video I posted earlier) is a 12/14/20 with matching snare. There is also a 13" that the original owner added shortly after buying the set. I also tracked down a matching 16" floor tom for the one up, two down configuration I prefer to use at gigs.
I got the set at an estate sale up in the far northwestern Chicago suburbs. They were quite dusty but the story was that they had been stored in a closet or attic since shortly after they were purchased and the overall condition seemed to verify that. I was thrilled to have a chance to get a set in my favorite Strata and in "downbeat" sizes to boot. Of course it was almost the last thing they got around to selling. The auctioneer started them at ten bucks but I wasn't quite that lucky and they ended up at $350 ($385 with buyers premium). Still a heck of a great deal. The other two bidders were not drummers (they both bought all kinds of unrelated stuff during the day) but either re-sellers or looking for ebay fodder. Fortunately they didn't keep bidding since they needed to get them cheap enough to insure a profit margin. Another "end user" like me bidding would have likely driven the price much higher. I really wanted them and probably would have gone as high as $5-600 if I had to.
Anyhow Standards are the best of both worlds, very cool wraps that otherwise only show up on MIJ sets (and only rarely there) wrapped around high quality American made drums. I don't use these that often (too many sets, too few gigs) but whenever I do I get a whole lot of compliments on them.

What a beautiful set! I would love to find another floor tom as I also play one up and two down. I'll also be on the lookout for a matching snare but I imagine finding either of these at a reasonable price may take a while. Fortunately I have a really nice Ludwig Standard aluminum snare that sounds great to play with the set for now.

It took me a while to track down that 16 floor tom but they are out there. Mine isn't quite a perfect match as it's a different batch of wrap. It's definitely Lemon but these wraps varied widely so this batch has some silver mixed in with the yellow and black. Not a terrible mismatch but enough for me to notice. In the past year or so I've seen at least two other 16" lemon strata floor toms come up for sale. One was nearly a dead on match to the rest of my set but was also pretty pricey...too much for me to justify buying just to have a somewhat better match.
I've seen a few Lemon snares come up too. I got one with the set but for a while I was tracking wood Standard snares pretty closely as I had a goal to own one in each of the strata wraps.
