you can always just cut down a base of a snare drum stand, not a good stand but either a cheap one or freebie then mount your 9000 basket into the cut down base.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Thanks, I’ll look into that since I’m not sure I want to drill six holes in the drum. Maybe I can find on old Ludwig stand for not a lot of $’s.

The DW9000 stand works. Maybe I can find a good deal on another one.

Hey Jim, good luck on the buy. I bought a 12x15 Ludwig and Ludwig and wanted to use it as a Ft. Didn't want to drill and then remembered I picked these Dunnett clamps in Nashville at Forks. The work to BD spurs as well.

The blue drum is a 12 x 15 and the mahogany drum is 9 x 13. I’ll post photos of my progress to complete this vintage kit. All are Ludwig but all with different badges.

I have most of the paint off the blue drum. The shell is maple and not mahogany so I hope I can closely match it when I stain it.

The paint on the hoops of the 12x15 is really stubborn.

Any suggestions for repairing mahogany veneer?

Thanks!

Finished the first round of sanding with 100 grit. The pretty much got the rest of the paint off. The hoops have some variation on the rounded side but the side that pushes on the drum heads is flat and seems okay. I’m going to sand again with 150 grit and I don’t think I’ll have to use any finer grit.

Rimshot99,

I wish I looked a little closer to your post about the Dunnett clamps. What a great solution to mounting floor tom legs. Sweetwater has these clamps and I asked if they will work on wood hoops. I already bought the Leedy brackets off of eBay. Now I have to make a decision to drill or not to drill.
