And they even got the "individual snare tension adjustment" wrong. I heard Steve Maxwell giving a demo and just shook my head... you can't adjust the snare tension... that's the whole point of the frame!

I haven't seen the Maxwell video, so not sure what he says about this. However, if you refer to the website I linked, you'll see the frame available separately, with specific reference to the adjustable tension.

The demo was in person at the Chicago Show this past May. The knob that they call the "individual tension" is actually for the adjustment of the travel of the frame, moving it side to side on the drum.

My mistake. On this frame, the snare tension is adjustable. On the frames with the semi-circle (where the strings are strung), the screw adjusts the travel.

Not really quite sure what you are referring to in regards to "the screw adjusts the travel". Those of us intimately familiar with the snare frame know there is but one adjustment... the knob that controls tension of the snare wires. What other adjustment is there? There is the "jacking screw" that was implemented into the tension mechanism, to allow for proper height of the snare wires at the tension end. However, once properly set, it was not an adjustment that needed to be messed with.

I haven't the slightest notion what he said.

I have one of the drums. I have disassembled the drum. I still haven't an inkling what he said.

It works. As it should. In every aspect.

Playing with it to see if I can dial it in.

One of the rubber end caps is split and falls off.

Shoddy QA so far.

Sounds OK,but not much different from my original Fatcat strainer.
