[QUOTE=johnnyringo;422778]You're welcome. I've never met a kit I didn't like. Drums are drums, I can manipulate any kit to get the sound I want

Building on that statement you made, can you also adapt to the drum set's configuration if the ride tom was mounted to the bass drum (as it was designed to be mounted) instead of being on a snare stand?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I'm gonna make a point to post all my drum kits which are alot of. All with the mounted tom sitting on a snare stand, that'll jack that blood pressure up. !!! :Santa:

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I use the Trixon tom arm, it works great. The Standard doesn't have one, hence the snare stand. But to answer your question, yes, I can adapt to the tom arm on most kits, sometimes I choose not to because of limited positioning and how it functions during a gig.

Here's what I use to mount a Standard tom for gigs. Ball arm with 9.5mm rod, in a standard single holder clamped to a 5/8ths tube which fits the bracket in a Standard bass drum. I have the original arm as well but this works much better.
