Hmmmm I thought I had posted these before. Here they are currently set up in my drum room.
Ludwig Jazzettes
Thanks guys. I lucked out on the color as they are really vibrant. The set almost looks like a glitter because it sparkle so much(which is a major bonus). The actually do need to be cleaned up and have bass drum hoops repainted. Truth be told they sounded so good when I got them that I was afraid to clean them and besides when it comes to jazz I kind of like things a little dirtied up. One day I may pull them apart and give them a good clean but I really not in any kind of hurry.
All the interiors are the grey speckled paint too. The supra did not come with the set and is one a bounce between a few B/O sets I have. It is actually stamped Dec 18 1970(which is the day I was born).

They surely pop in that picture, which basically could have been art-directed, with the various surface colours.

I have several nice vintage 18" jazz drum sets... all of them are unique in there own special way but my six (6)... four 1960s & two 1970s 3ply Jazzette kits are all true keepers...
Osa, you truly have an amazing collection of jazzettes. I have a strong like to the thermogloss one you have....
The "Jet Outfit" was cataloged by Slingerland from '64-'71. Early kits had the 18" bass drum as standard with the 20" being an option. '67 and later kits used the 20" bass as standard. Chrome hoops for both sizes with a special clip on pedal.
Oh yeah! It WAS '64. I forgot that! I'm absolutely certain that the Jet kit was specifically catered to Roy Haynes and his Alpha Romeo...or was it an Opal GT? I forget these details in my advancing age! LOL!

Here is the '69....INCLUDING the MATCHING Supra! I've seen lots of Jazzettes, but this is the most complete and original one in my experience, because of the matching Supra. The only things missing are one cymbal stand (easy to find) and the original tilter to the existing stand (replaced by a Slingerland one at the moment)...Everything else I absolutely believe left the store together in 1969 and stayed together ...until that fateful yard sale -where it was bought for a grand total of $30!!! The price I paid was considerably higher than that! LOL!
Anyway....Here she is...
All interiors are unfinished maple. The mufflers are rotary style. The wrap is not tucked into the plies.
