Wanted: Gretsch Renown Strainer

I need a renown strainer for a RB Grestch Dixieland snare that I just picked up. renown strainer looks like the later microsensitive butt end but with a throwoff lever....4 point mounting pattern.

Man I never thought it would be so hard to find one of these strainers......weren't they fairly common? Nothing on Ebay, Craigslist, Repercussions, Forks closet.......nothing! I might have to do another strainer conversion to a modern Gretsch Lightning throwoff and butt! But then there'd be even more holes in the drum! UGH!!

C'mon someone has to have one around somewhere??!!???

It will bolt up but won't work as a throw off since its a butt end for a microsensitive throw off setup. Thanks for the thought though

I don't have a complete working strainer, but I have a partial one with a missing lever. Did yours come with any parts, if so it may be possible to put them together. If you have any bits of the strainer post a pic of what you have here.

Unfortunately its completely missing. There's a late model Yamaha throw off in its place, and extra holes that I am going to have to plug as well....

how much did you pic up the snare for? i just think i got the same kind of snare with a bass drum ? i have pics on this site on the 52 gretsch drums .

just kind of curious because you have to be kind of lucky to come across such vintage gear?

do you have any pics?
