how much did you pic up the snare for? i just think i got the same kind of snare with a bass drum ? i have pics on this site on the 52 gretsch drums .just kind of curious because you have to be kind of lucky to come across such vintage gear?
I paid $85 for the snare at a local music store about 8 months ago. They didn't know what they had that's for sure. Its a mid 60's Dixieland model snare, 6-lug with diecast hoops. 5 1/2"x14". The original muffler was missing when I got it and someone replaced the butt end with a generic one, and the throw off was replaced a few times by the look of all the extra holes drilled in it. It has a Yamaha on it now that was there when I bought it. It works fine, but I want to make it right.
