NOS (?) Yamaha 60's kit, in boxes

On my gold c-200 it was quite thick, but like mentioned before rock solid, not that fluffy material they used on this re-wrap.

the bass drum has eight lugs, all my c220 20'' bass drums are six lug, although floor toms vary maybe so do the bass drums?

Good eye. That should qualify it as a D series kit but the badges (stickers instead of the solid badges) and the lugs speak C. To bad there aren't any pictures of the inside. If they are grey they are D series, if they are natural then they are most likely C series.

Btw the lugs are basic C lugs, like in the catalog scans posted on the previous page, they have two notches on each side.

The later c series drums had bigger lugs, from what I can tell these drums have the bigger lugs, something of a transition kit?

If only we could read what the box says, lol. I'm not positive this is a re-wrap, looks original to me. As far as it being a color not often seen, I know that Tama ( and likely Pearl & Yamaha ) made certain finishes that were only available in Japan and not abroad. Maybe on the global market blue sparkle was just " too common " so they went with their more flashy finishes to really stand out. But maybe on the home front more people wanted the standard colors on their kits. I can only speculate.

Here is a close up of the re-wrap. Especially visible around the left batter rim.

Now if it was done pretty certainly would say its a Yamaha local thing, but how this one was done... i'm afraid not.

Now I'll admit I'm a tad blind. But I'm not seeing what you are with regard to this being a re-wrap. Again I could be blind and be missing it completely.

Really wish we knew what the heck the box and ad said. For all we know it says re-wrap. No idea honestly. I mean truth be told really good close ups are needed, inside shots would help a lot, as would seeing the badge / grommet up close. The pictures the seller took are ok at best, and when you zoom you just loose resolution. So I'm not saying this wasn't re done. Just to my eyes I can't see it.

C series bass drum lugs are bigger than the tom lugs. I have spares of both if anyone needs any.

As far as the rewrap goes, I'm not seeing it either
