I saw this on Yahoo Japan Auctions and thought somebody here might be interested. It's at least cool to look at. Seems kinda pricey though. About $1000 US.

Interesting. I've never seen that model, with those lugs, in any other finish other than the red or blue thunder/golden dragon/midnight surf and the later metallic red yellow or silver. Blue sparkle seems almost boring by 60s Yamaha standards
Thats a C series kit. Its a re wrap as you can see on the 3d picture, and not a pretty one for that too.

Yamaha wrap is locked as a pittbull's bite. Even after all these years.
So 10000 is a bit to much. Around 500 would be more appropriate for this re-wrapped vintage set.
I did a quick search of Yamaha Vintage drums and the results were weak at best. I have never seen those lugs either. Are those Sakae built?
So are the pictured drums older than the Selmer importing of Yamaha drums? Blue Sparkle is certainly a common 60's wrap. It seems that if someone wanted all the money for those drums they would not have rewrapped in a non-stock color. A lot of trouble for little to no return.
I can't see the evidence of a re-wrap but that may be my poor eyesight. It's just I've never seen those lugs used on anything other than the early C-series thunder etc wraps and the slightly later YD 200 series metallic wraps (see pics) But that doesn't mean they weren't produced.
The D series lugs were used for longer and I keep seeing wraps I haven't seen before with those lugs. I actually just bought this D-20 kit in black (haven't picked it up yet), a wrap I hadn't seen before on this model.
My C series kit in Gold had those lugs too. Love the Solid Black. Had an option to buy a 12/14/20 in that wrap.

At least, it's an original Yamaha box, though different model / lugs.
I cannot / won't question if it is legit or not. But on 1 of the pics of the bass in the album, it's clearly visible at a lug under tension "waved" the wrap. So, in any case the rewrap isn't recent.
I really wonder how thick the wrap is and how this compares to the yamaha wraps at that time. The wrap on my red willow c200 is paperthin. On the floor it looks like this wrap is in the order of mm thickness.
