It looks to be in great shape, only cost $49.00 but I cannot tell exactly what it is. It appears to either be a chrome over steel drum or a brass over steel drum. They look to be exactly the same in the catalog. I doubt it is a President series What do you experts think that it is? I'll reveal the correct answer once it arrives. I did call the store this morning to ask these questions but GC had already packed it.
I just got this Pearl snare
Three indented lines running around the middle. COB. 70's. Killer snare. $49? WOW!!!! Great score. I think you will fall in love with it.
The infamous Stewart Copeland Pearl snare used on early Police recordings ?
Nice score. Think the Pearl snares are way underated/valued.

You were correct sir. Definitely brass. I am not a fan of the head that came on it and will ultimately switch to old faithful (coated ambassador).
Yes, this indeed is "the" snare Stewart used. Final confirmation of Brass can come from the magnet test.
Wow - what a killer score! All but you were caught snoozing!

I did the magnet test and it did not stick to the shell. Pretty friggin cool. I just bought this mid 70's Pearl Wood Fiberglass to go with it.
I had one a few years ago. The only snare I had that I used a 42-strand wire set. Wish I had it back.
