rewrap or not in generall

Just my :2Cents: I've always gone by a simple rule: if you can save it, save it. If you can't, you can't. As others have said (and quite rightly), it all depends on what you want from the kit - museum piece or player's set.

Personally, I wouldn't touch that wrap, except for a good clean and buff, and that lifting is not a difficult fix with a bit of glue and clamping, but ultimately it's yours to do with what you will. No-one is here to judge. That's the beauty of this place - you're among friends!

But don't rewrap or we will point fingers and judge you! Laughing H Laughing H

Sorry, I seem to have doubled up on myself. You'll all point fingers now and judge me, I just know it...

Guys thank you so much for your advice. I had the gut feeling to leave the old wrap on the set and you guys gave me the impression I am not alone on that idea. Walking

Rewrap or not? The bass drum has the most damage. Two of the toms have a couple of deeper dents and dings and scuffs but the rest are in good condition.

If I planned to keep the kit and play it a long time I would consider a re-wrap knowing that I would never recoup the cost to re-wrap the kit.

Otherwise, it might make sense to sell the kit and buy one in a preferred condition.

I do plan on keeping it, but I also don't want to kill the resale value if I don't have to. It's pretty much my dream kit but you never know what could happen later on down the line.

I also really don't want to spend a ton of money, I got a pretty good deal on this set at $300. It's a 26/13/14/18/20 so there would be a lot to rewrap if I were to do it. I'm actually cleaning and polishing all the hardware right now and it's a little overwhelming lol. I've got the bass drum mostly done but I haven't even started on the toms.

The butcher block has a cool vibe to it.

Just a guess that wrap alone would cost around $500-$600.
