Great news Kevin! Glad those timbales are getting some use. I thought of another idea also, if you need something specific just email me a link to it from Musicians Friend or other online store and I will purchase and have it shipped to you. This might work for others that dont have any gear you need.

That's what I did using Amazon prime Jeff. They drop ship the item and the shipping is free.

Yep, folks, that is a great option.

I use Amazon a lot and they haven't failed me yet.

We are looking for mainly tambourines, hand bells, bongos and small hand drums at this point. A stand for the timbales would be great...I tried my vintage Gretsch double tom stand but it won't work, dang it...

On my "Big Wish List" is a cajon and a couple of djembes...:):)

Maybe a few could "band together" for some of that...??

Folks, I am so grateful for all the pledges and donations for this cause..!!

We have begun a new session of clients, and we've had our first drum circle with them this week....!!

This is a particularly energetic group....it lasted over an hour, and frankly, wore me out..!!

The smiles on their faces, and their other positive feedback, quickly "cured" my fatigue....LOL

I've relayed to them about the success of the VDF donation drive made possible by You Good People, and they expressed their gratitude.

It's a great feeling for them to know that individuals, and an organization (VDF), until then unknown to them, has their well-being in their minds and hearts...!!

Gratefully,

Kevin

Have not forgotten Kevin been under the weather with the worst flu or whatever I got as soon as I'm able I'll send sorry gary

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

There's an LP Cajon for $90. at the link Kevin provided. Anybody wanna go halfies with me? I'll send my half to Kev, the other volunteer (your name here,) can do the same, and Kev can order the Cajon directly.

Anybody? Money where mouth is time! Somebody gonna pick up the sword?

John

Kev: I'll send you half the $ needed for the Cajon. I'm dead certain that with this crowd of marshmallows we'll come up with the other half in no time flat. John Velez, Head Marshmallow Number 1 :D

Too many great drums to list here!

A djembe would be great, Creighton.....I'm seeing 16x9 djembes on Ebay for $40.00 or so including shipping these days....maybe a partner would chip in for one...??

BTW, Folks, our Board Chairman peeked in our storage room this week and was amazed by the collection you cats have donated so far....!!

I've brought a few items and purchased an assortment of "small wares" as my donation to add to the mix....

I'll try to post up a pic this week of the whole shootin' match.....it's pretty awesome!!
