If its a 14" diameter I might take it. Im collecting some other shells to go with the kit. Im going to spray the same finish on them so I will have matching shells that could be used down the road.

Question is, how big and how many holes were used for the marching hardware?

Thank you!

That red interior finish is quite cool, even if it is butt ugly. First time I've seen a drum set that was like that from the factory. Learn something every day on this forum.

Good luck on the project jc.

Jeff the shell measures 14'' depth and 16" diameter ! The receiver hole is fairly large on the side of the shell, I haven't been able to find the shell yet This is just off memory.

No luck with the shell so far so Im thinking I will move on with the project, get as much done as possible to the other shells. If a 16 comes along during that time then great but if I have all the other shells ready to go and still no five ply shell, then I will veneer the mahogany shell and get this done. Plus I am afraid once I do find a shell it will be too expensive.

Thank you!

Hang in there buddy. Drum shows are right around the corner. Soon as the glue dries on that tom shell 2 or 3 5 ply toms will pop up for sale. Happens to me all the time! :D Did you ask Bill H if he has anything? Bill normally has a ton of Slingerland stuff around.

Glenn, not sure if I will go the the show this year and yes I did ask Bill. Looked on the bay several time a day, Facebook, DFO you name it. But it will be a while before I actually veneer the shell so maybe sometime before that happens one will show up. Extremely busy right now cant keep up.

Thank you!

I'll keep a eye out too. I've waiting to see if my son wants to do the show this year. Since its drums and guitars I'm hoping so. But if we do I'll be at his booth most of the time. I will sneak away to get my drum fix though!! Yep Bill was my first thought. He used to have a good supply of shells on hand. Hey good to hear your busy!! Take it while you can.
