Thanks guys,

anyone notice the badge off center on the snare drum? Is this normal?

Thank you!

Factory mistake? .....or designed so you see the badge with throw-off beside hihat in the usual position? Hmmm....

Jeff/DTF!

Actually, BOTH correct! Normal/factory ... Slingerland had issues with QC on a lot of drums in a few different eras. The not centered badge/air vent ... throw-offs/butts not quite centered ... throw-offs/butts not parallel with the beds ... etc. Not on every drum of course, but these little anomalies show up more than one would expect. As we ALL say though ... Slingerland was just building drums back then ... production! ... unlike today where every little thing is obsessed over, that was not the case back then. Certainly nothing wrong with striving for perfection either!, but this is all part of the "vintage experience". Those drums are truly OUTSTANDING Jeff!

Great Job Jeff...

I'd look out for some new tension screws for that snare though... Looks like you are near out of adjustment..

Cheers

John

Jeff you should bring them to the drum show so sweet ...

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thanks again guys! I have the Slingerland decal on the kick drum, she looks great. Drums sound great too, thinking about playing them at next gig.

Thank you!
