Thank you Jason, I'm not familiar with the Spirit line, are those the ones made over seas? Besides I only need the one shell.

I really don't know. From what I've heard, they're exactly the same as the 3ply shells but minus the rering. I don't know when they started coming from overseas.

Update, I did contact Stone and eventually through Sweetwater I could have purchased a new five ply shell with no edge work for 450.00+ tax + shipping. I declined because I dont have the funds to contribute to the project. Im sure the shell is worth every penny and would be excellent quality. I have other stuff to purchase for the kit. So now I am leaning toward veneering the mahogany shell again.

Just keep looking,brother...Patience is a virtue. Please remind us of exactly what you need or could at least tolerate.

Five ply Slingerland 16 x16 shell maple/poplar/maple. Could have a natural finish, red color lacquer or a wrap with raw maple under it.

Jeff I have a 3 ply 16x16 natural maple finish, It was a concert marcher, the guy I got it from stripped all the hardware and badge, but it's a nice shell. $50.00 and whatever the ship charge is

Concert marcher, what kind of hardware was on it? can you post a pic or email me one? 8 lugger?

I'll try to get a pic for you tomorrow, yep 8 lugs on one side only it has extra holes from the marching harness mount, the metal band is still on the bottom side but it has a bearing edge already cut, it is 3 ply with rerings.
