Plug and rewrap '64 clubdate

Excellent job sir! The drum looks good, inside and out...and nice to have the option of 9X13 or 8X12......or both! :)Mitch

Yeah, not many options for a clubdate kit, occasionally you will find a 10x14, or 12x15 marcher but that kinda is redundant with a 14x14 floortom.

I've also seen a few 16x16 conversions but, it kinda defeats the purpose of a clubdate being compact and transportable.

I like Drums...
1963 Ludwig Downbeat Champagne Sparkle
1964 Leedy (Slingerland) Blue n Silver Duco
1964 Ludwig Club Date Sparkling Silver Pearl
1966 Ludwig Super Classic Sparkling Silver Pearl
1968 Gretsch round badge modern jazz orange stain
1972 Slingerland 85N Pop outfit Light Blue Pearl
1976 Ludwig Vistalite clear
1981 Gretsch SSB Gran Prix Rosewood
1987 Yamaha Turbo Tour Custom Mellow Yellow
1991 Pearl Export Ferrari Red

100% agreed. Talk about compact - you could hang the 13 off a stand in place of the 14X14......I mean you could... :)

Had some fun with the camera. got to play it for the first time in almost five years!

The bass drum sounds horrible, it's got original 1964 heads on it!

That is absolutely stunning. Maybe try just a new batter first - I find with the Emads it don't matter what reso is on there, and that hazy reso you've got is something to behold! I want one...:)

Here's my video review of the kit.

Still haven't rewraped the floortom, it's too cold!

I've actually used mist metallic gold spray paints to age new silver sparkles. You spray it on real light and evan. Just kinda haze it on. No thick coat. It ends up gingeraleing the finish. Usually works out well. Also, i've got original heads on my club bass and it sounds really good when I pitch it up and use a 3inch wide strip on the batter. It gets loud...

Very nice. I would not rewrap that floor tom if it was mine.

Thank you!

There are extra holes in the floortom because of the bracket swap. We will see. In any event I won't wrap it until it warms up. Worst case scenario I have extra wrap for future projects.

Oh, Im sure you had mentioned the holes, my apologies for being lazy and not re-reading the thread. It just looked so nice in your picture. The whole kit looks great!

Thank you!

Cool video. The kit sounds fine to me, given the mic used to record. I'd probably live with the FT holes rather than re-wrap but that's just me. Anyway, very nice indeed...

Well now that is *extremely* interesting....
