Bolero (Stainless Steel Drums) ..?

Loading...

K You really scored !!!...I have been searching for one of those kits for a few years now

The kit that I saw then, was not a Bolero but it was definitely Japanese and identical to those

from what I read, the lugs are not Ludwig only a very well done facsimile of the Ludwig classics

In the VDG is an Apollo set that is similar but it has two beads on the shells. There are other details that are different but many similarities.

Can you, please, kindly spell/ look exactly: is it 'Bolero' (one 'L') or Bollero (two 'L')?

For me the quality of the pics is too low to see details - sorry.

Cheers, Ralf

I keep running into Bollero kits (yes 2 LL's) in Québec too, so it seemed to be a popular stencil name sold in Canada. Seems to be one of the older stencil names as the ones I see (or have owned) often have re-rings and often a third one in the middle of the kick. I sure ain't seen one like yours though! They're too cool for school! Nice score Rims!

Found a pic here at VDF.

Wrapped SS bass drum, and the gentleman had 14 and 15 wrapped SS toms.

Bollero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ludwig used expensive Marine Grade SS.

I wonder what kind of SS Bolero used.

Interesting Thread People.

Whatever it is, it's a cool find, and especially so with a snare and those sizes overall.
