Lido drums, question....

Loading...

Hi,

all knowing vintage drum friends,

Have a question about a set of Lido drums I found. It is a 4 piece, blue sparkle, has Lido Supreme on badge. From what I know about them, they were a Star, turned into Tama ? MIJ drum, luan wood, pretty much a student or beginner set. As far as collectable, don't know......Asking $300....Any advise?

Thanks Bucky

Hi Bucky,

First, this is a question best posted in the "non-USA" section, but, hopefully, others will see it listed here.

It's always difficult to give an opinion without pictures. Can you post some? I can tell you that, for what you describe, $300 is the very top end. Condition is everything. Blue sparkle is the most common color out there, so it would need to be next to NOS condition to go for $300.

No need to apologize there Iamdrummer/Bucky! Wasn't an issue at all!, and... glad to have you aboard! idrumforfun/Mark and I go way back here... we were just funnin', although I do try and keep the category's in order... but no need to take offense. None meant or intended! ENJOY your stay!

No problem,

it was my fault, didn't look at the category. Was just trying to learn more. You always are coming across unusual drum that you have never heard of. I try and look up info before coming into the forum, but sometimes you just need a little advise. You guys KNOW, these drums.

Hi Bucky!

Glad you took no offense! The move to this section is definitely for your benefit, so those that have more knowledge with our non-USA drums will see your post and get you the info you seek.

Do you have any pictures you can post?

Here's a picture of my Lido Supreme snare drum...wrapped in a beautiful Peacock Pearl.

Hey, Bucky!

I love these old stencils probably more than the next guy. I have a set of Tempos, a set of Supremes and a big seven piece set of Stars along with about a dozen Star snares, two Star marchers, a Star conga, a couple of pairs of Star bongos, Star drum sticks and even a Star tambourine in the original box. That being said though, I think that $300.00 is a bit steep for a set in blue sparkle (probably the most common wrap). If the drums are in mint condition, maybe $225.00. I know I didn't pay more than that in Canadian funds for the Supremes or Tempos. Both sets were in excellent condition. This is just an opinion. If you really want the set and you can afford it, why not!

+1 with what Brian said! Also, that huge cymbal stand is a bit out of place with the kit, so not required. Try to negotiate a bit with the price. Keep us informed!
