That's my kind of cymbal. Great find. This one is nice and smooth. Really nice.

A perfect Ringo cymbal too I might add. Better than my last type I which I sold at the show for much more than I paid for this one.

That other one is still here:

Both cymbals sound really nice. Its amazing when you listen to a trans stamp and consider what Zildjian has done to their line in the ensuing 60 or so years. I have heard very few modern A or K's which are even in the same ball park with regard to stick definition and musicality

I would almost say that 50's K's are my religion. Scratch the "almost".

The first cymbal didn't do it for me - had a harmonic that didn't enter my soul.

The second cymbal was one of the best sounding rides I've probably ever heard. That's the sound - a nice low drone (just like bagpipes!) with nice woody taps on top. Philly Joe. That's the ****. No extra crap. Kinda scary how shiny it was though... leave it on your roof for a few months will ya?

I wanna see some shrooms growing on it.

It might have been cleaned, but when that's the case usually besides the lack of patina find swirl marks from some abrasive. This one has none of that. Also it still has it's signature although its only about at 25% of its original clarity. This one came from an old timer.

If I could grow any shrooms on it I would. But they wouldn't be the type that you get over at the supermarket….if you get my drift.

I'm drifting away as we speak...

I actually got that line from a used car lot I was at. They had an AMC Pacer, if you remember those, and it had massive water leaks inside the car, and on the windshield in white shoe polish someone had written "Grow your own mushrooms"
