Completely forgot about this kit! A beautiful 4pc Whitehall (Pearl) from 1968. 14x20, 9x13, 16x16 and 5.5x14. A few Ludwig additions, such as the upper rail arm and brackets for the tom and cymbal holders, which fit the existing hole patterns. I sold the kit back in 2009 to Bermuda! He came out to my house to pick them up. A really great guy! Oh yeah, not a bad drummer, either! LoLoLoLo

All great kits!! Thanks for the pics. My red sparkle re-ring needs a new photo shoot. Gave the blue Maxwin by Pearl to the nephew. Keeping the white Pearl. Locate some last bits and then hope the 1982 Tama Swingstar kit will find a new home.

Hey Kenwood -

I saw these on the bay and was wondering if those could be the phenolic shells

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Hello John,

I don't think so, on them being the phenolic shells

I am not sure, but did they even make those phenolic shells

drilled for only six lugs per side?

No I think they are just a very colorful, fancy badged,

entry level kit even as most stencil kits go

Thank you tris66

This is what I was thinking about because of the coronet badge.

WOW!! ..tris66 thanks for posting that

You know, I never even heard of those phenolic shells at all

Until reading that exact article about a year or so ago

And I did not remember that the drums featured in the article

were Coronet and I see also that it is indeed a six lug kit as well

Great eye John ..Now I really can not wait for the drums to show up

I think T. Bruce is mistaken and those Coronet shells are the particle board/lauan jobs from the NC series. The pics in the article do not look like phenolic at all and I don't think they sound like it either.
