They have shut down down the English factory (previously KD Drums) again

We are waiting for a press release as to the future of Taiwanese production and the company.

Sad times for Premier yet again

I've heard this, too. From what others over at DFO have said, it only affects the high-end drums built in England, not the Taiwanese factory. While this is sad, I'm not surprised, as the sale of fine kits, such as the Signia and Genista line, have always been a tough sell in the US and other parts of the world. Just too much competition from other makes. Always loved the "diamond chrome plating"!

Sad but I tried to buy one of their APK Bop kits and could not find one in the Uk, I even e-mailed Premier and did not get a reply. The high end kits are just too expensive and look far too impractical for general use.

I do have lots of their vintage snares and quite a few Super Zyn cymbals.

Not sure why. They just made an honest attempt at some upscale lines of drums, snares, etc. They seemed wonderful. And even a cool little bop kit for $600 or so...

Lack of a famous endorsee or focus? That's why I say Ringo is the best thing that Ludwig ever did. Who knows..
