Premier Rare OYSTER WRAP 24" Bass Drum Kit 1960`s

Hello I have just got this very rare 1960`s oyster wrap 24x14 BD I have never seen another in this colour in this size. Been doing some studio work with the kit that originally had a 20" BD (that I still own). The tom sizes are 14x8 / 16x15 / 16x18 I also have a very rare 14x14 late 60`s oyster wrap FT if needed. Hello the BD is 3 ply Birch (with re rings ), the rest of the kit is all African Mahogany 3 ply shells, kind regards John

Thanks John. I actually found your post about the 2000 here on VDF but the photo links were dead. I (think) I may have bought a COB one but wanted to see yours for comparison. I haven't received it yet but the hoops and badge make me think it could be COB and the fact the chrome isn't falling off.

What did it end up being worth if you don't mind me asking?

Hello the drum you have is a 1st run 2000 it looks like the strainer lever has been cut down so at 1st looked like a late Royal Ace. (the picture is small). I have not had a chrome on brass version in this size. I have owned a few real rare examples of this drum over the years I will put some pictures up that I found. I have a few different examples of this drum in stock including one the same as yours (early silver strip badge version / thick lip early hoops) but never had a COB shell as of yet. Regards John

The below drum is a special order or prototype again mega rare, late 1960`s thick lip hoops pre serial number badge what a drum!!

Wow..way too cool...I have a circa 1967 Oyster 2001 model wood snare I am maybe flipping to a guy in UK..but...if he bails...I can let you know....

Wow John, there's no mistaking that for brass on the 2000. I'm glad you put up photos as I've never seen one like that before and likely never will again.

Sorry about the photo of mine. Yes, the lever has broken on it (see photo). I haven't got it in my possession yet but from what you're saying it's likely to be a COA shell?

I do have an uncommon 1963 10 lug brass RA that is ex NZ Symphony Orchestra. It's a lovely drum
