You`re doing a pro job on the patches. Outstanding....

Can you post a pic of the hollow chisel ? I`m trying to figure out how you get an inside diameter cut when these are thick. or, Is the chisel oversized and the drill sanding brings it down ?

Odball, the 1/4" punch makes a plug slightly under 1/4". It is the sanding on the Dremel tool that gets them to perfection. I am going to re-do some of mine, at least one of them I sanded just a bit too much and when you pop it in the shell it goes in too deep. The ones on the dowel rod are perfect diameter but they are not sitting flush all the way around, so I'm thinking on getting a 5/8" punch and plugs and re-doing those as well.

But the holes are not a worry anymore, I have a bigger task that will test my skills. I have not mentioned the problem yet, I want to keep it for last.

Well I cheated a bit and went back and read the post when you bought them. Is part of the bass drum re ring still missing? If so is it to make the missing pieces? If so and you need to steam bend them yikes! I remember your RK repair. That was one heck of a job well done. This would be a bit more involved with the missing rings.
