Is this really worth $4500?

Guys,

Not trying to promote this sale - just wondered if this is in the right price range for this set? $4500? I know the price is what someone will pay - but is this in the right ballpark?

Thanks as always!

I wouldn't buy any kit from a dude who doesn't put a carpet under the bass drum when taking photos of ANY kit , especially one like this if it is all cool as he says .

1963 Gretsch Progressive Jazz Champagne Sparkle
1967 Ludwig Super Classic Oyster Blue Pearl
Yamaha Birch Custom Absolute Burgundy Spkl. bop
etc...

I think now this is my take on this ... any kit made after 1965 should be priced less do to production numbers but that's me

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

If it had the matching Jazz Festival snare with it I'm sure someone would pay that price sooner or later.

Sorry ,but there's NO way,.......you can determine that Ludwig made 80 K of those kits.Even Ludwig didn't keep those kind of records. That's dishonest, and mear speculation at best.Ludwig at the time was working 6 days a week ,with 24 hour shifts, but there is no way to determine that exact amount of drum sets produced in a certain finish.

Who ever gave you that info,,,,was just smoking in the shower

No idea where he would have got that figure but even if it were correct (and I highly doubt it) it's somewhat counter-intuitive to ask a high price for something and at the same time to mention that the item you're selling was made in huge numbers (and therefore potential customers would think they should be easy to find). Also weird to say they made 80,000 of these but almost all of them have been ruined....how could anyone possibly know that?

Definitely worth more than the same set in, say, WMP or Blue Sparkle, but that price is a bit of a stretch...and you could likely find one of the other 79,999 OBP sets for a lower price ;) .
