A little before and after

Loading...

I take a lot of photos when I am cleaning up old drums and I realized today I never do anything with them.

Here's the before and after on a particularly grungy spot of a white marine pearl 65 Ludwig kit I've been picking away at.

Before:

and after:

Ultimately it all gets covered up by the cymbal mount anyhow:

Not that anyone has asked but I've always achieved modest results with scrubbing bubbles, Novus and Turtle Wax, in that order.

Good work, the wrap under the hardware needs to be clean also. Lets see some more of those pics.

Thank you!

How about posting them! Seeing good before and after photos is why many of us are members here! Post your photos.

Bar Keeper's Friend did that?!?! Wow! Those look great!!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I guess maybe I don't post many photos here 'cause by the time I get home at night I'm ready to drop.

Anyhow here's a few more before & afters:

I did one of those aluminum Slingerland snares a few years ago, though I'll say the Fiberskin head is a mistake for this drum:

I think I did these a few years ago now too....a nickel plated floor tom leg from my Radio Kings and a Speed King foot board. Before and after on the same piece!

I'll dig up some others but don't want to wear out my welcome.....you know...

Try this head combo on your slingerland, you'll be very pleased with the results, A remo coated emperor on top and a Emperor snare side head, this drum just needs those heads. I tried every head combo you can think of on this drum. This is the one that really made a difference.

Oh!!

Thanks for the tip!

Coated Ambassadors are always my "Go to" head, which is what's on the drum now, but an Emperor top & bottom is interesting.

On my way home from work tonight I was actually thinking of putting diplomats on my brass 10 lug Slingerland....just to see what happens.
