Beautiful WMP Rogers! Like a few others mentioned, I didn't even notice the 10" rack tom, probably because it looks "right" with the other drum sizes. Was the center-mounted swivo holder on the bass drum standard practice?

Wayne Brown: Not so much a query here, but THANK YOU! You are such a positive personality, and your love/respect for Rogers drums needs no introduction!

VM2K/Mark: Good eye Mark!.. because .. sound/lights were supplied, but I ALWAYS bring my own mikes, just in case. This was one of those times. I ended up using my own mikes as just these two "grab" the entire kit nicely, and I know how they are going to sound. That said:

Bass drum: Audix D6

Overhead: Shure SM137 Condenser

idrum4fum/Mark: THANKS as always Mark! The bass drum mount for the rack tom on a Rogers 14X18 had been discussed many times, and it's a good question! As it turns out, and this was typical it seems... Rogers had a couple different spots for that mount on the 14X18. The most common is the center, which is where this mount was original to the drum. But, I have also seen it a little more over to the left, sitting behind the drums. As to what dictated just WHERE they put it, I don't have a clue. Ride cymbal Knobby is also correct for this drum. The splash cymbal is an older Rogers hoop mount model. I decided to go that route as I didn't want to drill the shell for a Knobby. It IS a Rogers piece though.. ( and I freaked when I found it! ) .. so in that regard, all correct! I'll attach a slightly different view!

Agopsalott: THANK YOU!, and so true... there aren't a whole lot of them out there, but when one pops up you go COOL! I think Gretsch had the market cornered on the small bass drum. To see one from Rogers is always neat!

I'm amazed you could get what appears to be a 22" ride on that 18" and still have room for the tom mount at TDC. Are they all done in the antique white?

Good eye!... it's a 21"... but what's an inch between friends? The ride does "just" fit! I actually prefer 20" rides, but this one came along and I was intrigued by it. I played it, and made a deal with the guy. I love it! It's a SABIAN HH Crossover model, so you get the best of BOTH in it: Dry with a nice ping... but enough wash for character, and the ping is NEVER over-driven by the wash. GREAT for jazz, and anything else too. No...

... unfortunately no audio/video of this gig. Would have been nice! The snare drum was a prototype that I was trying for Joe Montineri. He calls it a Dynatone, as it is based on the 60's era Cleveland Dynasonic. The shell is a true 5/5. He wrapped it in a Rogers chip pattern WMP, but it is WHITER than the antique WMP on the rest of my kit. The customer supplies all the hardware off their COB Dynasonic as a donor... and then installs on the shell that Joe makes.. edges.. drills.. etc. Playing wood Dynasonics almost exclusively for years, I can attest to the fact that Joe NAILED this! The drum played and spoke beautifully... and at 2/3rd's LESS than an original would cost. This is NOT meant as an advertisement for the drum, but it is pretty neat! Ill post some pics I took of the drum for you to see.
