Thanks Mark!

Well try number 2 was not very successful either.

This time I sprayed some clear lacquer over the stain before spraying the dye. Its looking more and more like a solid color is in order. I'm not sure if I even like this color of stain. I'm thinking about tying the thermogloss stain I had made last year. Or maybe even walnut, heck I don't know. Last kit I'm doing so I want it to turn out good.

Thank you!

Mike, I'm just not finding it as much fun as it used to be. And, I want to focus a lot more on learning how to play. And, I have a 40 ford coupe street rod that needs my attention. I have fifteen drum sets now and that is about thirteen too many. For what I do with my basement band, two kits is all I need. But I become attached to my drums and can't take that step to sell them, they Are just to cool. This kit was purchased Ihop with flipping in mind but I will have more money in it then someone will pay for it, so I will probably keep this one also. Might have to sell some drums to fund the car but I hope not. The car is gonna be an awesome drum hauler, huge trunk!

Thank you!

I still like the burst 2 tone. Like a Tobacco burst as my son calls it. Hey glad to hear the 40 is getting some love. That's sweet car I still have the pic you sent me. Bud of mine has a nice 40. Black ext with black tuck and roll leather. The back seat is like a wrap around couch. 289 hipo with solid lifters/C4 trans/9" rear. Nice! Back on topic... the thermogloss would be a cool finish too. I'll be great no matter which way you go. Top notch work you do!

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

You and I are in the same boat Jeff. Ive never wanted to have more than 3 sets. I think i'm at 13 or so. Don't have any desire to part with any of them. No room for more. I too have a '50 Chevy pickup and also a 62 Impala. Both could use my attention!

I'll vote for the thermogloss you had made, because it seems you're unhappy with the results so far, and you had it made for something. Why not this :)

My final attempt to get this fade going was to use a shading additive mixed into the finish. This is the best result so far. The pic was taken immediately after spraying clear over the fade process.
