Purdie Shuffle's BD Pedal Gift to Me

John was nice enough to send me a gift.

A very old, rusty gift. But a gift none the less.

Oh boy, what am gonna do with this? I thought.

So many rusty crevices. Oh No.

And how much time will it take to restore?

John said I could just leave it the way it is...........Really?.........

Me?................ just leave it and give up?...............

Couldn't do it.

It is a Leedy Lightweight Pedal.

Designed by a man named Fraser in 1912.

I believe these were made for Leedy in the 20's.

From my understanding, all hardware for all brands was made by W&A.

Walberg and Augee...is that spelling right?

That looks great, Such a cool looking pedal. John is a very generous person with a big heart. He's one of the good ones. Let us know how you like the pedal when you find a beater!

I think these pedals were painted gold at the factory.

After cleaning, I can see areas that have gold paint still hangin on.

See pic. Thanks to Jake at Drummerworld for the pic.

He had a whole set of hardware in the gold. Pedal, lo-boy, BD muffler...

all gold.

Scott - You worked a miracle on that (formerly) rusted over old pedal. The busted connector wire can be repaired, or replaced, a little WD-40 and it'll work as well as when it was new. You did a super clean-up job on it, and I'm sure it was messy! :p

It needed a good home where an antique like that could be appreciated. The pedal found a good home...

Tickles me to death seeing it all cleaned up! Great job on that one. Next stop... gold enamel paint!!!
