My floor tom head is covered in them. Just wanted to say it. :D
I should get one of those cup holders that attach to the HH stand, right? They have them. Laughing H

I'm going to come at you like a drum coach would: It's not a coffee table! Have your java -before- you sit down to play and... start playing that floor tom and incorporating it into your grooves and fills instead of parking your wake-up fix on it.
There wouldn't be coffee rings on any drum that is indispensable to your playing and that gets used/played regularly. :p
Funny post. Time for new heads!

Ha! I know I really shouldn't, but where else am I supposed to place my beverage. Or the floor? No! Too far away from my reach. It might as well be in China. My FT is by my right hand and it's a flat, horizontal surface. It makes sense to leave it there. Ha ha! I'll only place my mug there when I'm practicing and messing around. That's when the FT doubles up as a coffee table. I just assumed every drummer did this. :D
No, keep ringing up that FT head! I'm sure it looks pretty cool actually...:)Mitch
It does look pretty cool Mitch. It really does. It's like when you see the old set that has the cigarette burns on the bass drum hoop. It gives the kit a bit of character. You can look at my floor tom and instantly you'll know that drum is a real work horse. It get's good use as a coffee table. :)
Wasn't that what Buddy's other floor tom was for?
I know Buddy parked his sweat towel on the other floor tom but not sure about coffee mugs.TommyP would likely know the answer to this one.

And this is clearly the right place for my drum key, right? I invented this. Patent Pending! :P
Not that I re-tune my drums that often, but that's a bloody brilliant and convenient place to store a key! Contact Gibralter... you might have a legitimate and very marketable idea.
I'd buy one!
