Coffee mug rings

I know Buddy parked his sweat towel on the other floor tom but not sure about coffee mugs.TommyP would likely know the answer to this one.Wayne

... and the REAL STORY is:

Buddy DID in fact USE his 2nd 16X16 quite a bit in the "early" going. Right on through his Rogers endorsement actually. At around his Trixon/Vox and then Fibes period in 1967, he started putting his sticks and brushes on the back floor tom. ( still no towel though! ) Placing his towel on the back floor tom started with regularity around his Slingerland endorsement in 1968, for whatever reason. From then on, the back 16X16 just about NEVER got played, as it was holding his towel! This stayed in place right on 'till he passed in 1987. So... a lot of guys think that the back 16X16 was ALWAYS a towel holder, but no!... that wasn't always the case. Buddy rarely, if ever, placed his water or coffee mugs on the back floor tom.. but .. I once saw him put a "bulb horn" on the back floor tom, you know, like you would find on a vintage bicycle. Funny thing is, during that particular concert, he honked it!

I used to set drinks on top of my hard floor tom case, just to my left side. Now i use softies, so on the floor they go.

You can easily clean up heads with a magic ereaser. I've always used my floor tom to put a plate of food on at any gigs. Where we are invited to eat. Works well.:)

It does look pretty cool Mitch. It really does. It's like when you see the old set that has the cigarette burns on the bass drum hoop. It gives the kit a bit of character. You can look at my floor tom and instantly you'll know that drum is a real work horse. It get's good use as a coffee table. :)

18" FT had a towel on it the whole show.

I really wanted to hear it played.

I don't like the thought of spilled liquid between my rim and drumhead.

(That sounds funny.)

I do not like rust.

So I do not place liquid on any of my drums.

I DO need a good multi-drink holder.

Coffee, Water, Diet Coke.

Ha ha! I'm seeing those dollar signs flashing before my eyes. Cheers John. Glad you like the idea. I'm trying to develop a chain-less, belt-less BD pedal that uses a system of cogs and a spring under the foot-board, but I've said too much. :) Patent Pending on that one too. Maybe I'll contact Gibraltar on that one if I can ever figure out this dang blasted clinking, clattering cacophony of cogs and camshafts. :D

My hard floor tom case is being used right now as a table for my laptop.
