Not sure how good of a save but a save...

My brother works for a garbage disposal company. While on his rout , he came across this ft that was thrown out. He didnt have the heart to crush it, thank goodness! Im guessing it late 70s ??? Just curious what you guys might know about it. I told my brother he did good by saving it and i wished the rest of the kit was with it. It is actually a very nice sounding fl tom, i like it alot. Not sure what im gonna do with it just yet but im sure it will fit in with one of these kits i got around here.

So what can you tell me 'bout this drum?

Those lugs on that drum go way back to the early 1950's. but the badge does look late 70's

Holy galuba! Great save Robyn! That might be worth some bucks or a real good trade as we all know floor toms are one of the hardest pieces to find sometimes. Funny, I always tell my wife to look at the trash on trash days for drums. She thinks I am a nut but we proved her wrong didn't we!

Thanks for the comments guys. I knew what the drum was coz of reading all the posts here about premier drums. As far as i can tell, the drum is completely original, even the heads. It is in really good shape and nice n solid. No rust or pitting. Im gonna clean it up real good and enjoy it for a while. The heads are still in good shape too so im gonna keep them on n playing them. 3558 is the serial number. I was guessing 70s becoz of the badge not the lugs. I think premier used them lugs for many years. Anyway i got me a really nice extra floor tom i can add to any of my kits for a litl extra spice. Oh yeah. LOL

Just for ****z n giggles...any idea on value?

those are the seventies lugs, I used to have a 50's premier that I bought in 1970 and added a second bass drum and floor tom, those came with the same style lugs as yours. the 50's lugs were smaller and more rounded lines.

have a look inside at the color of the inner ply. If it's dark it's the African mahogany which I think is one of the best shells Premier made. They have a nice deep, rich resonance, although you'll probably need some rubber feet on the legs. Could be a great drum for the studio where it doesn't matter about matching a kit for looks. Well saved.

Ok, cool, thanks i didnt know for sure, i was just going by photos ive seen. They look similar in photos.
