Same as Mike & Gerry, my 62' SBP floor tom has the 17" legs. I used Maguires on my wrap and the drums look like new. Try it on your shells.[IMG]http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n632/PurdieShuffle/angles.jpg[/IMG]John

WOW! Thanks for the link, John! That stuff looks great! I've been using paste floor wax, but I'm going to find some of this stuff.

The NOVUS system is basically the same thing as the Meguires treatment. If you already have NOVUS go with that. If the scratches are deep in some places, I'd start with NOVUS 3 and work my way down to 1.

Attached are some pics of the 12.

The first shows the worst scratches on the wrap.

The second shows something that looks like tape residue.

The last shows the badge that's either lifted or someone attempted to remove. (You can't see it in the pic but below the badge is a black gouge which I think is a cigarette burn.)

I believe that this is the worst of all the drums (regarding scratches) but I will need to check them.

I tried lighter fluid on something the other day that both Goof Off and Goo Gone wouldn't work on...the lighter fluid did!

... and if it's hard to see what you're doing, just light a match! DOH

Actually I can see why lighter fluid would work! That stuff is a solvent like nail polish remover, it'll dissolve anything.

Ok, I own Novus but haven't used it yet. I assume that you would use #3 on the entire drum even though the deep scratches are only in one "panel". Correct?

Yes! Do each drum shell completely from top to bottom using NOVUS 3 first, then #2, and finally the polish, #1. Use soft cotton rags to rub it in and use some elbow grease! You'll be happy with the results.
