Vintage WFL / Ludwig WMP 1958 Drum Kit - Buddy Rich

Loading...

WFL 1958 Kit in White Marine Pearl. This is the Buddy Rich outfit with a 22x14, 16x16, and 13x9. The drums have nickel over brass hardware and sound great with 3-ply shells!!The rail is missing some parts to mount the rack tom - hence the snare stand in photos (not included). I'm also hunting down a 13" nickel hoop for the bottom of the rack. Currently a chrome over steel is on the drum. One of the cymbal arm mounts is missing a wing nut.. most everything else is present. I believe the hoops were repainted at some point. I will have more/better pictures of the kit up soon.. include detailed close ups. The front hoop has about 2.5 inches of inlay missing as well as 3 holes drilled across from one another... like something was hung in front the drum at some point. This is ONLY with the hoop.. the shells are 100% slammin. The yellowing could be taken out with wet sanding. It works wonders on these Pearl wraps. Cool little side note.. i picked this kit up in New Orleans.. and it was actually used in the movie "All the King's Men".

$1100 + ship

** UPDATE: I have found and replaced the bottom hoop on the 13" with an era correct Nickel over Brass hoop that matches great. I have also hunted down a matching snare from 1960.. Also with nickel hardware.

hi, this kit is still available? thanks!

I sold this kit sold 2 years ago to a guy down in Baton Rouge, LA.

Since, someone from Baton Rouge has been listing it on ebay for 3K using my photos.. He claims to have "misplaced" the muffler.. yeah - because i still have it. He originally started by claiming that it was handed down from his father...

I guess this shows why I dislike nickel so much...in this state,at least......

Think of how many HOURS and HOURS it would take to hand polish each and every part on this to bring it back?

I did a RK 26,13,16 and snare in nickel around 3-1/2 years ago...and that was around the hardest restore I have even done!

No fun at all.....
