Duck Tape on Cymbals

From Ludwig-dude

One in the same. Duck tape is a name brand for duct tape.

Yeah but he got a cymbal with tape residue on it. How would one tell if it was actually Duck residue or duct residue?

Does it quack or what?

Just Lick the Cymbal would be my bet... You should know by the taste if it's duck or not...

Cheers

Ancient resurrect warning. That tape residue will have had 6 more years of solidifying.

Just wrap the entire cymbal in duct tape.....problem solved. You'll never see that nasty residue. :p

Goo-Gone works wonders on this stuff too. Got to let it soak a bit, then it will come off. Might need a couple of applications of it to remove it entirely, but a lot safer than acetone or WD-40

Goo Gone will do it!

I've been meaning to ask you....What's the difference between Duck tape and duct tape?

Per my VDF username I'm an expert on this subject.

I have had much success with Goo Gone as well.

Acetone is probably the most effective, but if the flamability bothers you, I've had very good luck with just plain old mineral spirits.
