super RARE finish 60's Gretsch Drums

Loading...

PICTURES CAN BE SEEN IN THE CRAIGSLIST AD HERE: http://newyork.craigslist.org/jsy/msg/4207895791.html

1960's Gretsch Round Badge 3pc 'Name Band' outfit 13/16/22 in the rarest of the rare finish, Wine Red Pearl!

9" x 13" tom

16" x 16" floor tom

14" x 22" bass drum

i love this finish, it RARELY comes up, maybe once a year on ebay and they sell for absurd prices!

drums are 6ply and sound excellent and tune up or down beautifully.

no extra holes, original hardware on the drums with the exception of 2 wingnuts on the floor tom leg brackets (wingnuts available at steve maxwells for $3 each) and the floor tom legs themselves. the bass drum inlays are repro's from Precision Drum co. the interiors of the drums appear to be repainted? they are just too clean looking, but its a nice job overall. one of the rail consolette side bolts is stripped out so the rail jiggles alittle bit, but an easy fix overall.

the finish is in great shape and vibrant, there are some small marks on the 12" and a small split in the wrap under a mount on the 16, but nothing major. seams arent bad either.

the drums sound and look awesome!

this will most definitely be the hardest kit i've ever had to sell. im heartbroken it has to go, but i know i have to. I dont mind selling other great stuff cuz i know ill have another one within a month or 2, but i fear i will never see this finish again. :/

$1850 + shipping

let me know if you are interested!

thanks

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Stallwart, thaks for attaching the pic, drives me nuts to click on those links only to find they dont work anymore.

RBD that is a nice kit, too nice for me. I would like to get a beat up Gretsch kit someday to re-finish.

Thank you!

YES!!... and that is EXACTLY why we frown upon inserting craigslist "links" or even off site photo sharing "links"... as they ALL eventually disappear. It is tough to constantly police though, so many of them end up staying, not to mention what Jeff has said here too: It's frustrating/maddening to click a DEAD LINK.

... but that's not the point RBD!... the link.. will still eventually.. be DEAD. David and I have to go through and clean all those out as they serve no purpose to a site that archives info/pics. All we are saying here is TRY to put a pic up as an attachment, regardless of what you are linking to. We do appreciate it!

understood. it would be in the site's best interest to update the photo uploader to accept larger jpg files, i've noticed over the years alot of people having issues uploading due to the size limitations on here. i used to post pics all the time but i recently got a new computer and my picture resizer is gone! :/ so i cant seem to upload any pics unless they are very tiny.
