Star kit - 924 type - restore project

Star badges would be AWESOME (to quote an overused word). Adhesive backed foil over a thin sheet metal? I've seen companies that will do that but I forget who they are. I suspect you'd have a few folk lined up for those if you produced them - not just the Star folks. :)Thanks again,-Doug

Hey Doug - no sheet metal. I'm talking about just having the foil cut. Apparently it's tough on cutting blades, were I to have badge sized ovals and shapes cut, then they'd also have to be printable. Still looking into it - will let you know.

As I mentioned before:

... But beware of the Gibraltar copy of it: it's similar - but not the same. The switching unit there is different and looks different (it has not the grooved surface on one side, but is blank all over).Ralf

Gibraltar's may work, but it is no 1-to-1-copy of the genuine Star part.

Thank you gentlemen! I'll hold out for an authentic Star part for awhile. If I cannot locate one I may go the Gibraltar route as JohnL suggests.

Thanks again,

-Doug

My first input on this:

Wow! I love that wrap! The guys giving input so far haven't steered you off into oblivion! They're the best 'Star' and MIJ folks on the site... so I'll shut up! lol

Nice find, and not too expensive in my book.

Fishwaltz - Your input and opinions are most welcome, in particular when you are complimenting. hehe

Lots of really good help on this project (both tangible in the form of parts, and the intangible in the form of encouragement/expertise). I dig this place.

And I just noticed - I went from 'member' to 'contibuting member'. Must be my incessant posting on this thread. Thanks for your patience VDF.

I'm not real sure, but I think that's a bit pricey for that... let me look around and see if I have any.

To speak chronologically, the TAMA damper isn't the correct choice ...

And that price is far out of what it's worth. :2Cents:

... especially as I don't use my 'One touch tone control' dampers, just love to see them being the genuine ones in place ...
