Hey Slingy experts, still taking baby steps here.....as I anticipate putting the BD back together, what goes on the ends of these spurs?---yes obviously some type of rubber feet, but what would be period correct and what are the odd off-sets on the tips of these spurs? Is some part missing? Help2

Looks like just the circlip is missing off the one on the right.. you can use the circlip/spike end out, or as most guys use..., the rounded other end to the floor fitted with a rubber..

The clip just prevents the spike sliding all of the way in/out of the mount..

Without going to WTB, do you know who'd have a circlip? Additionally, what 70s era rubber feet would you recommend so I can stay as close to original as I go along putting this BD back together? I can't seem to get enough detail when zooming in on the catalog pics....Hmmmm

you don't really need the circlip. the kit didn't come with any rubber feet to begin with. I don't know of any that will fit.

I've gotten the clips at the hardware store. I never use rubber tips. I use the spiked end on a carpet.

You can use either of the tom rubbers from Jammin Sam.. or ebay.. the diameter is 9.5mm..

I chose the heavy duty ones as I have been in much trouble over the years for wrecking expensive carpet (both home and away). If you remove the circlip and also fit rubbers, then you can easily swap ends to suit the occasion.. I think Vintagemore2000 is correct, in that rubbers would not have been supplied with the kit.

As far as the circlips go... most hardware stores would have a selection or bag of mixed sizes..

Not sure where you're at with the snare but if the problem is a fine, rough, raised pitting on the surface of the chrome then rubbing with aluminium foil and vinegar will work well. The foil is soft and won't scratch the chrome. It's also good on rusted hoops. If the chrome is flaking or perforated then there's not much that can be done. The pictures show a before and after. The foil did most of the work and I finished with a metal polish and wax. I actually used foil and water but I'm told that vinegar will work even better. Good luck.
