That's a nice old Rogers, friend. One of the last with their signature shells, before they switched to the imported shells. I am not sure that a new exact match exists for that wrap. But maybe.

Any idea where to get two memrilocs for the tom arms?? the only other piece that seems missing is the rubber foot on one of the kick drum spurs..

The attach point for the kick spurs is weak/loose, anyone ever put a metal reinforcement plate in there with any luck?

For the kick spurs......

Your shell has been stressed. Adjust the kick so that it sits on the bottom 4 lugs, adjust your spurs to match that, so that it is firmly supported, does not rock and is squarely on the ground. Second. Remove the spur mount bolts on the inside of the shell. Take 2 1.5" or 2" fender washers aprox. 1/16" in thickness, form them to the curve of the shell, and reinstall the bolts. You may need slightly longer bolts. One of the washers will have to be trimmed with aviation snips to fit close to the mount. This works.

yeah, sorry... not real clear on the problem...

after removing the kick drum spur mounts, over the years they have been stressed/overtightented (?) and the bolt has actually gone through the inner ply (painted ply) and now really doesn't have a great surface to grip....

Ploughman, I think you're right on with the washer idea, that's where I was going but hadn't thought about curving them appropriately...

All the hardware has been removed off all the shells and the rust stain remover from whink has done a GREAT job at removing all the surface rust from the tension rods and interior screws for the lugs... very impressive stuff.

I thought at first of stripping all the wrap and re-wrapping, but the more I get into this kit, the more I really like the look and keeping it vintage...

Whose got the best method for making the lugs and rims 'pop' again, shiny like new?? Elbow grease and a good metal cleaner? After clean will a good wax help with the shine?

Oh yeah, one of the lugs on the kick drum was heavier, had an internal spring and felt... ??? older???

sweet... mothers mag and aluminum polish is doing a nice job too...

And if I haven't said it yet.... Whink rust stain remover is the stuff!!!Cool1
