Can't post to Cymbalholic.com

Loading...

Cymbalholic appears to be having a problem. Except for a couple of posts a few days ago no one has posted in a week. Every time I've tried posting in the last several days I get the following error:

Error while saving content: SyntaxError: Unexpected token F

Does anyone know the status of this situation?

Thanks, I know he's a member there. I was actually aiming my post mostly at him but figured others might also know.

Why are you apologizing? Do you think I was upset about something? I was just answering you honestly. Zenstat appears to be the last person to post there so while I figured he might answer I didn't direct it specifically to him.

That explains it. I figured Zenstat would have the scoop. I too was perfectly happy with the previous interface there. The new one, even when it was working, was not pleasant to use or view IMHO. Hope they are back up soon. Thanks.

You are both correct and incorrect here: it is correct that there are major problems over at Cymbalholic. Visitor numbers have dwindled since the forum was "updated" to its current, superbuggy state. But it is not correct that no one has posted there in a week. I posted there yesterday, and so did several others. The Cymbal section of the forum, however, has not had any posts for a week or so, due to the buggy state of the whole forum.

Somebody call my name?

The story: the site is very ill due to the software upgrade. One of the most recent symptoms is that the Cymbal Talk forum no longer allows posts and anyone trying keeps getting system messages.

The other forums work (but still poorly) for now. I started a few threads in other forums to test that, and I posted into a thread in the testing section which Jabez had started. Jabez then moved the thread into the Cymbal Talk forum, which worked...but then Jabez couldn't move it out or delete it. So my post was actually made in the Testing forum. It would be ironic if it was the last post to get into the Cymbal Talk forum.

If you followed the links on DFO to the things about vBulletin 5 you will see that it has killed a number of previously lively forums around the world. We are the latest casualty. Pretty much dead now. :(

This VDF forum continues to run on vBulletin 3.6.8 which was back well before the software rot set in...good call.
