Yo, The "King" was post war while the "Prince" was pre-war, funny how that worked out

Hmm. I thought the two coexisted. I got it from my friend Roger Turner (he's in Wiki) who's an English collector and drummer of some notoriety. He was fairly certain that the King was from 1937. Live and learn. Thanks for clearing that up. You seem like quite the expert.

Cheers.

Stephen, I know Roger, intesting stuff he has, I was going to buy a couple of things from till

I had an accident with my other truck, I'm still feeling the pain on that one. In fact I owe him an email. I bought a Premier streamline console from him

Sorry about your accident. Hopefully, you'll be on the mend soon. Yes, Roger's a great guy and has been very generous to me. I own several drums that were formerly his. He basically gave me my Carlton Standard in a trade. He's coming to the States this fall, and I hope to be able to meet him in person. We've become great friends.

Cheers.

Oops, wrong info, the Carlton King was indeed pre-war but barely, 1939, I was going by the catalogs and I never saw one in any of the catalogs I have

But here is some interesting info off Sir Alan Buckley's site

I would say that was a Standard from 35 onward. I should've known better, I have a Carlton King bass drum from 1939
