Yo, are you still looking for a lever, do you have a picture, we may be able to make one, chromed and all

Hey capt.wierd, I sure am still looking! Your offer sounds fantastic...! Sorry it's taken me a while to respond, I'm on holiday overseas. Here's the only pic that I can find on the net that looks to be correct:

Great to see some Carlton talk on here!

Thanks again...

Here's maybe a better picture of the levers on a King. Hope this helps you two.

Cheers.

Cheers relayer, much appreciated. That's a much better picture, thanks v much.

Wonderful to see another King, that's exactly the same model as mine. Never seen another before...

capt.wierd - I'm missing both levers btw. Would be amazing if you could sort it somehow.

Sounds like I need to get to the NDF too!

Are you on Facebook? The levers if Paul can make them, are made and chromed in Preston, UK, so not too far. We have both type levers already made for the Dominions

Happy Sunday Carlton Lovers,

I too am the proud owner of (what I always presumed was) a pre war Standard COB 14x6.5. The original stick chopper style hoop was slightly out of round so I replaced it with a later Carlton hoop. The original wires are still extant and in excellent shape, this drum has been a treasured possession its entire life. A mighty snare indeed that can give anything produced in the New World of the period a run for its money, see below...

I have shortly to arrive a wood shelled version in need of also pictured below. I am all aquiver as to what the lifting of the goldyveil may reveal!! Cost me the grand sum of £8.25p...

Spart's chrome 6.5 looks like a Classic. It's not a Standard, I don't think. The Classic was a nicer drum, but I don't know if the throw is the same.

Cheers.

I would say that was a Standard from 35 onward. I should've known better, I have a Carlton King bass drum from 1939

I should imagine that would be possible CJ. I have however mislaid Mr B's email address, perhaps you could forward mine to him and we can sort something out.

Indeed I stand corrected Mr R, a Classic it must be. Nice to be socially mobile, if not yet of the ruling class!
