Just waiting for this beauty to arrive..I believe approximately 1935 snare drum, Chrome over brass shell, and it has the hard-to-find levers. Damper is still present and in full working order..does anyone know anything else about these as I cant seem to locate rarity or see them on the forum? Many thanks

I don't know much about it, except that it was Carlton's 2nd best snare drum back in the day. Very nice and rare drum. I have a friend in the UK who has one. He also traded with me for a Carlton King, which I love and use. I've also got a Carlton Standard, which is a fine drum as well. They made good drums.

Cheers

Cheers Stephen,

have been told they are pretty rare, but wasn't sure mate, was wondering on an approximate price-even though to me it is worth a great deal to my overgrowing snare collection. I've also got a Standard too but in a green sparkle..you should post up a picture of your King buddy

Thanks very much - glad you found it. My Standard is gold sparkle. It's got a shop's sticker on it that says 'Joe Daniel London W1';very cool. As to their worth, I've no idea. I know they are very rare. I paid between $600 and $800 for the drums I traded to my friend. He's very generous, so I'm sure they're worth more. How did you find your Prince? I see you have a fondness for Trixon. I would love to have a Trixon kit, but don't have the room. I do have a Trixon chrome snare from the late 50s. It's metric, but it's approximately 7 x 14. It sounds great.

Cheers.

Just based on the quality of the engraving you know that's a fine instrument. Congrats!
