I have a dilemma. I also have the opportunity to buy a Beverley kit, blue badge, for aprox. the same price. What do you recommend? The Pearl or Beverley kit?
What kit is this and should I buy it?
WOW! That Beverly kit looks HAWT!
Get 'em both... for less than five hundred bucks you'd have two NICE kits. Not kidding...
Unfortunately i only have budget (and room :-) for one. So is there a 'better' kit between the two of them (type of wood, hardware etc)? The chrome on the tomholder of the Beverley is damaged. The Pearl is in mint condition. And which kit would be a better investment?

That's a pity, but I do understand the room problems... collecting drums takes up more space than a thimble collection.
I think I'd go for the Pearl's if I had to make a choice sight unseen. I'm not sure where you are, but you may want to try to get whichever kit you DON'T purchase into the hands of someone on this forum. Even if you can't fit it into your budget, you'd know it was going to a place where it would be well taken care of.
Please do post pix of whatever you decide on!

I think the Beverly's are top of the line Premier.....just different lugs.......
I don't think they made too many or for too long....
Birch interiors..NOT luan!
Grab as fast as you can....
I have some WMP hoops in 22 also.
Yes, I agree with Blair, top quality drums with Premier shells. They are ridiculously undervalued drums. The Beverley brand started in the early 20th century and was sold to Premier in the 50s. They were then sold to Boosey and Hawkes but the drums were still made at the Premier factory. I understand that, despite being made in the Premier factory while Premier were using pre-international sizing, the Beverleys were all made with regular international sizes.
All things considered, the Beverly kit is a much better deal. If you opt for the Pearl kit, contact DaddyNowhere on this site as he has the die-cut vinyl Pearl sticker you would want. It is period correct and will look great.

That Beverly kit is a sweetie. If it was me I'd already have it and be showing off pics of my new WMP Beverly kit. flower That's my pick.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
I understand the space issue, but you maybe you could buy both and sell one once you have played both.
Don't know where you are but those beverly kits are scarce in the U.S.,and the beverly are birch shells I believe and every bit as good quality as premiers,I would get the Beverly kit .
