Hell-o all, I am new to the site, and I am wondering who may know what a 1969 Mod Orange Ludwig Kit may be worth. I bought it new in, yep, 1969, and am wanting a new kit, but wife says this has to go before I can get a new one. Still struggling with the idea of selling it, but would like some info from anyone that may know the worth. I have had an offer of $2200, but am not sure if the guy is legit yet, however he did say he would go through something called paypal? Anyone?

I doubt I would trade those for anything.

I think they are beautiful. And I am not a luddie player.

Um, this is a rare bird.

I only tell you that because at auction the

Missus might be surprised what can be bought...

The pics are great, any and all details will likely

put this over the top 'round the Bay.

Paypal is $ in the bank. ( there are fee's and S&H, etc.)

The '09 drum shows are around the bend too.

I've personally seen a stack of Franklin's send tubs

like these far, far from home...

Thanks for the info. I love these drums, the sound is un-matched, and I am having a hard time with parting with them..Not sure I can really...

Mind Blowi

I'd sell the wife before I'd sell those! Keep them. You'll regret it every day until you die that you sold them. My father traded in not one but two black panther finish ludwig sets in the early 90's for a new ludwig kit. He said almost everyday how he wish he hadn't have done that, but that it was the only way he could afford to do it. Don't get me wrong the new kit sounded great too, but it just wasnt the same....too much sentimental value for him. One of them was a Jazzette kit he bought new in 1968, his FIRST NEW KIT EVER! I told him he was nuts, but he went and did it anyway. The whole family had to hear about it all the time up until he passed away three years ago. I was fortunate enough to find the 70's hollywood kit that he traded in years ago on ebay about two years ago. Serial numbers and small details about the kit confirmed it was his, plus it was for sale in the same state too. So I done good by him on that one. I'm still searching for the Jazette kit.

Again......DON'T DO IT!!!!

Work out a trade with someone who isnt going to screw you. Get it out of your system, and trade back.

You just answered your own question, then.

I mean, okay, I can understand if someone has a really rare set and they just don't like the sound therefore they just don't use 'em. In which case, I would say: go ahead and liquidate 'em...they will find a new home with someone who appreciates them more and you end up with a nice wad of $$$$.

BUT..if you like their sound and love playin' em...don't sell 'em. I would go so far as to say that you would regret it if you did.

Thanks to all of you that have repsonded. It is not the money, I can buy a new one, the wife just feels I should not have two sets. I talked to her last night, and I CAN NOT sell them. I still play them, and I actualy got a stomach ache thinking about selling them. Bun "E" Carlos of Cheap Trick came to look at them a few years back, and wanted them, but I couldn't sell them then either.

Thanks again all of you...
