22" Super Zyn
A 22" Super Zyn....listen and evaluate
Toilet
Honestly one of the worst cymbals I've heard. Zyn and Super Zyns were one of the worst cymbals made from the 50's-60's....next to Krut and Ludwig Standards that is......about the same as todays Wuhan Traditionals/S series and Dream cymbals that are made in china.......terrible!
I'll stick with my K custom darks thank you.

Interesting. Opinions vary I guess. Here's what a couple of drummers from another site said about the same cymbal:
Pretty cool sounding 22 with plenty of "Woosh" and you have a nice touch.
I think that sounds totally gorgeous!!! beautiful definition and opens up with nice accents.. really nice.
This cymbal isn't mine, but I wouldn't mind if it was.
I kinda agree and kinda disagree w/LD.
I have never heard a good Krut...merely a passable one.
HOWEVER...do not group a regular Zyn with a Super Zyn...3 star or more.
Regular Zyns are not good at all...they sound quite cheap ( a shame because they were substabtial cymbals made of B20).
BUT...Supers are a different story, IMHO.
I have owned 3 of the Super Zyns...an 18, a 16, and a 14...and honestly, they all sounded like good '60's Avedises.
This soundfile is of a pretty nice cymbal, to my ears...
I consider them right up there along with UFIP stencil brands as one of the good quality sleeper cymbals...the Supers...not the regulars.
What he said...with the addition - I like the Dream Bliss cymbals. I play old K's, new K's, Constantinople's, proto HH Sabians, Old A's, Paiste Twenty's, Meinl Byzance, and just about any other cymbal that sounds good to my ears. Cymbals and drums are a strange beastie. What sounds great to one is trash to another. That Super-Zyn has an interesting sound. I like the separation of the stick from the wash, but I don't like the tone of the wash. That's just my ears. It does blend well with the rest of your setup, though. I agree with Jaye, Super-Zyn's were in a class well above Regular Zyn's. I used to have a Krut. From my experience, you weren't missing anything, Jaye. The one's I heard were like darker low-end Paiste's with way less character.
Oh, I'll agree with you that Super-Zyns were far better than what they offered prior, but.......to my ears everyone I've ever heard sounds like a trash can lid. I hate to say it, but even many of the prized vintage K's are clankers too. Just because its old or vintage doesn't mean it sounds good. How many cymbals did Elvin and Tony, and the rest of them have to go through to get THE ONE that sounded best to them? Chances are quite a few. Same goes for the older A's too.....some were great and really sweet sounding, but a lot were nothing more than expensive trash can lids. Real clankers.
Can you tell I'm very discriminating about my cymbals and how good they are supposed to sound? :D
I am actually looking for a 20'' Zyn. let me know if anyone has one. thanks
Until recently had a complete set. 14" hats plus a 22" and a 20". Here's the 22"
