Mystery snare - what is it?

It is a Beverley Dual with the Bowden Cable system. If I were you I wouldn't sell it. It's a rare snare you have there. Good finding!

Again I'm amazed by the knowledge and research here on VDF. Neorich05 comes up with the actual catalog page for this drum!

Bowden cables are used for hundreds on purposes. Was it used to control the snares on this drum?

I'm very curious as to what the cable does as well. Too bad the snare didn't come with the foot pedal. I assume that's very rare. Still, as is, it's really a great find. I've got some very rare British drums myself, and I'm always interested in the subject.

You can see the cable attached to the pedal on the 1930's Gigster Kit,

It may be a damper control??

Bloody amateurs, it is a Beverley around mid 30s, Made in Beverley UK, by Dean and Sons. The cable goes to a foot pedal that throws the snares on and off, as noted. The lugs are likely the same lugs, I believe, Jedson used from 1930 to 1935

Where is the foot pedal???

I want it for the museum

probably still at the bottom of the ocean where the drum was foundcrying2-07

It does come with a camp stove though - probably 1970s
