Just searching for the ultimate re-wrap thread...haven't found it yet. But I did find one disucssing the merits of various colors.
It'll be a re-wrap of a Gretsch Dixieland RB snare. The wrap on it now is a WMP. I don't know if it's the original or not, come to think of it, but a WMP appeals to me.
Precision Drum's "Continental" got two thumbs down. Andy Foote has a zillion colors - too many for me, for this project, there's a lead time, and it's available full sheet only.
Just re-checked, Precision's COntinental is NLA. There IS now an "Antique White Pearl" that's appealing, though.
Any opinion's on a good WMP?
OR, is there a unique wrap for the Dixieland that's pretty danged spiffy. Or a good factory color to use?
I once painted a vintage car a non-factory color just to be stubborn. Lost even more money than usual because or it!!
