A Star Is (re)Born

Hi bros, this is a big fav of this forum.

The legendary WMP Star...

This kit become my favorite regular drumkit and it's sound and looks great.

I found the kit for good price and almost good condition.

They're was parts missing and i do my very best to complete the kit in the original spirit.

Missing loops, cymbal bracket, bass drums spurs.

The 13' had Asba hoops.

I change every insert on the toms and do isolation with "feutrine".

I make bass drums spurs with old MAXWIN drum floor spurs.

Every chamfer had candle wax, that's better for the drumheads.

And try to realise the "revol-o-matic" cymbal bracket with parts of diff. cymbal holder. Gibraltar,Tama and Maxwin parts where my goldmine.

Hopin' you appreciate it as well as me...

Hi,

I've noticed this beauty already lurking around in your Rokkomann (Kokkomann)-post ...!

Great, great, great.

Does the grating in the cymbal arm really fit tight (!) into the grating at the cymbal mount ?? You've done a very fine job there. I can see that you've put lots of love into the details there!

And I love that genuine STAR cymbal mount, although it looks sooooo ugly to me! :D

You know what is also pretty amazing, Ralf? So far on this post, there's a gentleman from France, you from Germany and I from Canada praising something we all consider to be a thing of beauty. It's too bad that we, as human beings, can't always find such common ground.

Respectfully,

Brian

+1, Brian!

Maybe it´s because the bigger part of the population of this planet are not drummers?

WALSTIB, I´ve been watching your posts here with increasing enthusiasm.

What fantastic looking drums you have there! Great.

And all the "elbow grease" you´re investing - and so much love.

Hmmmm, South of France - the area you´re located in reminds me of the fact that it´s already been 20 years since I spent a very nice holiday at the Gorges du Tarn... ...think it´s about time to sit on my bike and come back to this wonderful place once more as soon as possible!

Jazz is not dead - it just smells funny! FZ
